Jadeite
Topping the list of valuable
gemstones is jadeite. It is considered one of the rarest and most valuable
gemstones in the entire world, and is mined mostly in areas throughout Guatemala and Chine. The stronger the jadeite’s green hue, the more valuable it is, with a base value of $3 million per carat.
Red Diamonds
Naturally red diamonds are extremely rare, and range in color from a rich red, to deep reddish-purple. Most are mined exclusively in Australia, which makes them even harder to find unless you have a supplier with connections. For this reason, a quality red diamond, on average, will cost you up to $2.5 million per carat.
Serendibite
Known for its unique composition, which includes traces of boron, serendibite comes from Burma and Sri Lanka, and costs around $1.8 - $2 million per carat. If you can find this beautiful bluish green stone though, you’ll certainly be in for a treat.
Blue Garnet
You might think garnet is a common stone, but you’re probably thinking of red garnet. Blue garnet, however, can only be found in the United States, Madagascar, or Turkey. For this reason, a blue garnet gem will cost you as much as $1.5 million per carat.
Grandidierite
Commonly mistaken for serendibite, grandidierite is another stunning blue-green stone. This precious stone, however, is worth far less, at “only” $100,000 per carat.

gem is a beauty found only in the warmer climates of Utah and New Mexico. However, abundance of this gem puts its value at only $10,000 per carat.
