Are all San Fernando Valley Pawnshops created equal?

When it comes to pawnshops in the San Fernando Valley, there are plenty of options.  Most of the time, you’ll find yourself choosing purely based on location.  Which one is closest?  That one by default is the best one.

But think again!

If you really want to evaluate the quality of a pawnbroker in the San Fernando Valley (or anywhere, for that matter), you really need to look at services offered.  Do they do free appraisals?  How long have they been in business?  Do they accept a wide range of items for pawn?  What about other services?  Do they do jewelry repair?  Do they have layaway programs?  How about their standing in the community?  Are they well respected, or just some Johnny-come-lately who might be gone 6 months from now.

In the age of the Internet, these things are easy to find out.  Ideally the website itself should point you to answers to all of these questions, but your local chamber of commerce (sanfernandovalleychamber.com in this case) can give you a ton of interesting data also.  Yelp, Ripoff report, and other sites will tell you who to avoid – but tread lightly.  One disgruntled customer does not a pawnshop make.

So what do we suggest?  Well, since you asked…

Traders Loan and Jewelry has been a pawnshop in the San Fernando Valley since 1954.  That’s a long time to be in business, and just shows how dedicated our customer base is.  We insist on the same core values from all of our employees – honesty, fairness, respect and open dealing.  We’ll tell you how we are appraising your items, and how we arrive at loan amounts.  We’ll create a plan that is fair and honest, and we’ll do that every time, with every customer.

Come in and say hello, or send us a message.  We’d love to add you to our family.
